IWC has collaborated with Warner Bros. to release a pair of Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital watches with the Aquaman theme.
IWC Schaffhausen has teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures to launch a limited-edition pair of watches to celebrate the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom superhero film. Both watches are based on the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month, which debuted in 2017 with a Ceratanium case.

Each limited to 25 pieces, the pair is inspired by the watches worn by the villains in the Aquaman movie, Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Dr. Stephen Shin, played by Randall Park. Capturing the look of the support watches, both limited edition watches feature an all-black finish along with contrasting elements in vibrant colors, either red or blue.
The Aquaman-themed watch pair is quite large, measuring 49 mm in width and 19.5 mm in thickness, making them some of the largest and boldest models ever created by IWC. However, despite their enormous size, the watches are not expected to be uncomfortably heavy on the wrist thanks to the use of IWC’s Ceratanium material.
This patented alloy combines titanium and ceramic. The Aquaman watches are also equipped with the SafeDive System bezel, preventing unintentional changes to the dive time by adjusting the external bezel only counterclockwise. Additionally, the watch pair offers 100m water resistance.
Moving to the dial, both iterations have corresponding red or blue Super-Luminova elements on the dial, hands, and inner bezel. A honeycomb pattern over the calendar display provides a view of the complex movement inside the case. The watches feature a perpetual calendar with digital displays of date and month, enhancing readability.
Powering the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is the in-house caliber 89802, an integrated automatic column-wheel chronograph with flyback function. The highly complex movement operates at 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 68 hours. The watches are available at selected IWC boutiques and cost $57,600 each.
